Affordable Care Act Committee

This committee advises EMSAAC members on relevant issues related to impacts of the Affordable Care Act (also known as "Obama Care"), a highly-debated healthcare reform law that became fully effective January 2014. In December 2017 the "individual mandate" of the Act that required Americans to purchase health coverage or pay a penalty was removed, beginning in 2019. The effects of any successor legislation will need to be carefully evaluated for its potential impact on EMS. The Committee has created a Dropbox Account to share important documents related to this rapidly evolving topic. For more information, please contact: Tom Lynch.
