NLapollaSan Mateo County has selected Nancy Lapolla to direct their local EMS Agency, starting in September. Nancy is a veteran EMS Administrator from Santa Barbara County with many years experience guiding the development of quality EMS systems. She is also a Past President of EMSAAC and currently chairs our active Disaster Committee. Ms. Lapolla succeeds Health Department Director, Louise Rogers, who has held this position on an interim basis for nearly two years. Her colleagues in the Bay Area look forward to Nancy's arrival and are delighted to see her excellent skills added to our collaborative efforts!

EMSAAC wishes to acknowledge the generous contributions by our Sponsors, Exhibitors, Speakers and Attendees to the success of our Annual Conference in Coronado. In the spirit of our theme, "Adapting to Sea-Change", conference speakers challenged us to prepare for shifting "winds and currents" in EMS that are being driven by innovative research, changing funding models, portable technology, emerging scopes of practice, evolving standards of care, healthcare reform, and real-life multiple patient incidents. Many of our speakers' presentations have now been placed on our website here: Conference Presentations.

Special thanks to our Conference Committee working together under the leadership of Mike Petrie to create a valuable and informative forum. Loews Coronado Bay Resort was a wonderful venue, and our conference planners have already reserved it for next year's conference.
